CHICKEN SPITZA (CHICKEN WITH
MEAT BALLS)
 
1 whole frying chicken
4 to 5 garlic cloves
1/4 bunch parsley
1 c. fresh or frozen peas
3 tsp. olive oil
Salt & pepper
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 slice bread

Cut chicken into pieces. Chop garlic and parsley together. Heat the oil in a Dutch oven. Add the garlic and parsley mixture and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the chicken and turn to brown evenly. Lower heat. Cover and continue cooking about 1/2 hour. Meanwhile, prepare the meat balls. Soak bread in water. Squeeze out water. Mix the bread, salt, pepper and ground beef. Form into 1/2 inch balls. Add meatballs to the chicken with peas and cook for another fifteen minutes or until the chicken is cooked.
