SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. shortening (butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 400°F. Mix together shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix together flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt. Blend the two mixtures together. Roll dough into balls the size of walnuts. Prepare a mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon and roll each ball into the mixture. Place the balls 2-inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
