MAKE YOUR OWN "CREAM OF" SOUP
MIX
 
2 c. instant nonfat dry milk
1 c. cornstarch
1/4 c. instant beef bouillon (low sodium, if desired)
2 tbsp. dried onion flakes
1 tsp. crushed dried thyme
1 tsp. crushed dried basil
1/2 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in airtight container. To make 1 can of soup, combine 1/3 cup dry mix with 1 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan. Cook and stir until thick. Add celery, mushrooms, etc. for the type of soup you are substituting.

To vary, replace beef bouillon with chicken or vegetable flavor. Use different herbs and spices such as mace, nutmeg, rosemary, celery flakes, chives, minced garlic, parsley flakes, or sweet pepper flakes. etc.
