NANNY'S HOMEMADE APPLESAUCE 
8-10 cooking apples
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Peel and slice apples and cook in water until soft. Lightly mash and stir in sugar and cinnamon. Continue cooking until dry, being careful not to let stick. (Add a little more water, if needed.) For "Chunky Applesauce", add sugar and cinnamon at beginning of cooking.
