DROP ROLLS 
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 tbsp. soft shortening

Dissolve yeast in water. Sift flour. Stir sugar, half the flour and salt into yeast. Beat with spoon until smooth. Add egg and shortening. Beat in rest of flour until smooth. Cover with cloth. Let rise until double, about 30 minutes.

Grease 12 large muffin cups. Stir down raised dough. Spoon into muffin cups filling half full. Let rise until dough reaches tops of muffin cups, 20-30 minutes. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake 30 minutes. Makes 12 rolls.
