HALF AND HALF COOKIE 
1 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 even tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. melted butter

Mix all ingredients. Drop on greased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Have drops be 2 1/2 inch wide (1/2 tablespoon) or can be made large for bigger cookies. May add more milk to batter if dough is too thick. Bake until lightly browned and cool and frost. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg

Use half of frosting for white side. Add cocoa to other half for chocolate side.
