CABBAGE BEEF SOUP 
1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 large onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
1 pkg. dry onion mushroom soup mix
1 large head cabbage
1 large can tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 medium can V-8 juice
1 1/2 tsp. sweet basil
2 tbsp. chili powder

Place first 4 ingredients in a large skillet. Simmer on low heat until hamburger is done. Chop cabbage fine and put in a large pot. Add tomatoes and ingredients from skillet. Add remaining ingredients and cook about 1 hour. Salt and pepper to taste. Also if desired, add 1 can Ro-Tel and small can chile tomatoes.
