APPLE CRUMBLE 
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla or almond

Sift first 4 ingredients together 3 times. Work in butter and set aside. Grease and flour baking pan and fill 2/3 full with sliced apples. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and a touch of cinnamon. Beat egg and vanilla/almond together and stir in flour mixture with fork. Distribute over sliced apples. Bake at 325 degrees in 9 x 13 inch pan, approximately 1 hour or until apples are done, top is crisp. May add chopped nuts to crumb mix. Serve with ice cream or Cool Whip.
