KAHLUA 
2 oz. jar instant coffee
4 c. sugar (brown old style)
2 c. boiling water
1 pt. bourbon or brandy
1 whole vanilla bean

Combine coffee, sugar, and boiling water. Stir until coffee and sugar are dissolved. Cool. Add brandy or bourbon. Pour into 2 bottles (approximately 26 ounce size). Cut vanilla beans in 2 pieces. Split each half and add a half bean to each bottle. Close bottle tightly; let stand one month.
