FRIED APPLES 
1/2-1 cube butter
6 c. sliced, unpeeled apples, Golden Delicious or Green
1/2-1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Melt butter in a large heavy skillet (cast iron). Add remaining ingredients and cook over medium low heat uncovered about 10 minutes. As they cook, turn apples carefully with spatula without breaking them. Continue to cook, uncovered, until apples are tender. We always liked them well done so sugar would get kind of caramelized. Better to over cook than under cook.
