CHOP SUEY | |
1 lb. lean pork, veal, beef or chicken 1 tbsp. flour 1 c. hot water 2 c. raw onion, sliced 4 c. celery, cut sm. 2 tbsp. molasses 4 c. bean sprouts (2 cans) 4 tbsp. chop suey sauce 2 tbsp. Wesson or Crisco oil Cut meat in small pieces and sear in hot oil until brown. Add flour and stir until mixed. Add hot water; cover and simmer until meat is done. Add onions and celery. Cook a few minutes more. Add molasses, bean sprouts and chop suey sauce. Stir well. Serve over rice or warmed chop suey noodles. I use noodles, meat well cut, better if partially frozen. |
