1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 diced unpeeled apples

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add diced apples and nuts. Bake in loaf pan. Serve warm with whipped cream.
