BARLEY HOT DISH 
1 c. quick barley
1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1 sm. can peas
1 lg. can tomato sauce
1 sm. can tomato paste
1 c. water
1/4 c. green peppers, chopped

Pre-cook the barley in salted water and then drain. Brown the ground beef; add pinch of salt and pepper. Add the onions, green pepper and celery and cook for several minutes. Keep stirring. Add the sauce, paste and water and stir until well blended. Cook for about 15 minutes then add the peas and barley. Pour into glass baking dish or roaster pan. Cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees. Serves 6.
