SALT WATER TAFFY 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
3/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. flavor
Food coloring

Mix sugar and cornstarch in 1 1/2 quart saucepan. Add next 4 ingredients. Cook over medium heat until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved. Continue without stirring until temperature reaches 260 degrees. Remove from heat, after boiling has ceased, stir in flavoring and coloring.

Pour onto a greased cookie sheet. Let cool. Grease hands and pull until satin- like finish. Wrap in waxed paper, pieces of desired size.
