L.'S SPONGE BREAD 
2 pkgs. yeast
2 c. lukewarm water
2 tbsp. sugar
5-6 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/4 lb. butter, softened

Dissolve yeast and sugar in water, let sit until bubbly. Make sponge by adding 2 to 2 1/2 cups flour. Stir well, let sponge rise. Stir in sugar, salt, eggs and butter. Add flour until stiff enough to knead; knead on floured board.

Let rise once, punch down, let rise again. Make into two loaves or can be made into cinnamon rolls. Let rise. Bake at 350-375 degrees until golden brown, 35- 45 minutes.
