L.'S ITALIAN SALAD 
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. leaf oregano
3/4 c. lemon juice
1 lg. onion, chopped
3 tomatoes, cut in sm. chunks
1 tsp. garlic powder (not salt)
2 tbsp. grated Romano cheese
2 c. salad oil
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cucumbers, sliced
1 head lettuce, shredded

Put all ingredients except lettuce in bowl. Mash with a potato masher for 3 to 4 minutes. Cover and place in refrigerator for at least 3 hours. For best results, let set overnight. Just before salad goes to the table, not a moment before, add the lettuce. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
