2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk

Sift flour, salt, baking powder, cream of tartar and sugar together. Cut in shortening until it begins to crumble. Add milk and stir with fork until dough moves around mixing bowl. Pat out 1/2 of dough and spread with melted butter. Place on top half and sprinkle with sugar. Bake 450 degrees 10-12 minutes. Top with strawberries or any fruit.
