AFRICAN CHOW MEIN
1 lb. hamburger, browned and drained
1 cup chopped celery
2 med. onion
1 can cream mushroom soup
1 can chicken soup, creamed
1 cup uncooked rice
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 cup water

Add celery and onion to browned hamburger; cook 15 minutes then add soup, rice, soy sauce, and water. Mix all together and put into a greased casserole.

Bake 2 hours at 350°F. Stir a few times because the rise settles to the bottom.

Will this freeze? Should I freeze without cooking?

Freezes very well. Cook before freezing. Eat some or not, portion it out as you'd like and freeze either whole or in the portioned batches.

My mom used to make this all the time. She added diced bread for topping after a stir about half way through. Love to make this. Makes me remember my Mom. :)

That's amazing! On a lark I thought I'd look up African Chow Mein, and by gosh this is almost identical to the recipe my mom used (main difference is that she added ground pork)!
