CORN MEAL YEAST ROLLS | |
3 c. warm water (not hot) 3 tbsp. (3 pkg.) dry yeast 1 c. sugar 3/4 c. oil 7 c. all purpose flour (Add 1 more c. flour if you choose to leave out the corn meal. This will make yeast rolls.) 1 c. all purpose yellow corn meal 1/2 c. dry milk 1 tbsp. salt Put warm water, yeast and sugar in large mixing bowl. Let stand a few minutes until yeast and sugar mixture rises above the water. Let set about 5 minutes longer. Add your flour, corn meal, dry milk, salt and oil (in that order). Knead well. Let rise until double in bulk. Shape into rolls. Place rolls on greased baking sheet and let rise until double in bulk. Bake about 15 minutes in 350 degree oven. Makes 2 dozen rolls. |
