APPLE BUTTER LAYER CAKE 
Cake:

3 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. softened butter
3/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 1/2 c. apple butter
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk

Stir together flour, soda, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs, one at a time. Combine buttermilk and apple butter. Add alternately with the flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.

Bake in 2 greased 9 inch round pans at 350°F for 35-40 minutes. Remove from pans, cool and frost with creamy vanilla frosting.

Creamy Vanilla Frosting:

1/2 c. softened butter
1/4 c. evaporated milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. box powdered sugar.

In a small bowl, combine ingredients and mix until smooth and shiny. If too thick add a few drops of evaporated milk.
