FRUIT AND HONEY BARS 
1/2 c. water
6 oz. butterscotch candy bits
1 c. raisins, chopped dates, or other dried fruit
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 sticks butter
1 c. honey
1 lg. egg

Line bottom of jelly roll or sheet cake pan with greased waxed paper. Bring water to a boil and add butterscotch bits. When butterscotch has melted, add dried fruit and cook about 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add nuts and vanilla; let cool.

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. In mixer bowl cream the butter, adding honey in a slow stream. Beat in egg; gradually add flour mixture.

Add cooled fruit-nut mixture to batter and pour into prepared pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until golden and tests done. Let cool in pan. Cut into bars.
