CALIFORNIA CHICKEN 
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 c. uncooked rice
6 chicken breasts or parts
1 can mushroom soup
2 1/2 c. water or chicken broth

Sprinkle soup mix over bottom of 17x13x2 inch buttered pan. Sprinkle rice evenly over soup mix. Lay chicken on top of rice. Dilute mushroom soup with water or broth. Pour over chicken. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.
