GO-TO-SCHOOL COOKIES 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
4 tsp. cocoa
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. walnuts (not necessary)
1 tsp. vanilla

In a bowl, stir together the brown sugar, cocoa and Crisco until creamy. Add 1 egg and blend well. Add sifted flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Chop walnuts and add them together with vanilla and milk in the same bowl. Drop on a greased cookie sheet a teaspoonful about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool use chocolate or vanilla icing.
