WAUMPTKA 
STAGE 1 - SAUCE:

3 qts. pureed tomatoes
1 can tomato paste
3 to 4 heaping tbsp. Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp. sweet basil
1 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. Italian seasoning
2 tbsp. garlic, powdered
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. black pepper

Simmer 3 hours until sauce is thickened; stir often. Let cool down a bit. Adjust seasoning to individual preference.

STAGE 2 - MEAT MIX:

1/4 lb. Italian sausage
1/4 lb. lean ground beef
2 eggs

Cook slowly and drain excess fat off Italian sausage and lean ground beef. After draining set aside to cool. Fold in 2 eggs.

STAGE 3:

Cook 1 large head lettuce until just tender enough to roll leaves. Let cool down.

STAGE 4:

Have ready:

1 lg. sm. curd cottage cheese
1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 lb. ricotta, shredded
1 stick butter, cut in thin pats

Take a small amount of sauce to season pan bottom. Take 1 leaf of cabbage, put in meat mix and roll up with 1 pat butter inside. Place in pan. Continue to fill 1 layer with cabbage rolls. Next put cottage cheese spread over first layer, then the cheeses, then the sauce. Continue to do this for a second and possibly a third row. When completed, bake in 350 degree oven until hot and bubbly. It's really great.
