SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Resift flour with baking powder. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually blend in flour mixture. Stir in nuts. Cover and chill.

Roll out on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 300 degrees for about 20 minutes until edges are very lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Makes 2-2 1/2 dozen cookies.
