SOURDOUGH BREAD
1 c. Sourdough Starter
1 tbsp. melted lard
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Flour (about 3 c.)

Into the starter, stir the lard, sugar, salt and enough flour to make a soft dough (about 3 cups). Knead well and let it sit in a warm place until it doubles its size. Toss dough lightly on floured board, work well and shape into 1 loaf. Put into greased loaf pan. Let rise until double in size.

Bake at 375 degrees for about 35 to 40 minutes or until it is golden brown. Turn out of pan immediately, coat all sides with lard to keep soft. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let cool. Yield: 1 loaf.
