SHRIMP AND PASTA WITH MARINARA
SAUCE
 
8 oz. cleaned med. shrimp, peel and clean
1/4 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1 big clove garlic, crushed
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
3 oz. tomato paste
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. basil
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 lb. spaghetti-linguini

In 1-quart skillet or soup pot, cook onion, green pepper and garlic in hot oil until tender. Add tomato sauce and paste and water and seasonings. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, occasionally stir. Don't let it burn on bottom. Add shrimp and simmer for approximately 3 minutes longer or until shrimp turns nice and pink. Boil pasta until al dente (firm).
