CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. unsifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
4 serving size pkg. Jell - O brand vanilla flavor instant pudding and pie filling
2 eggs
12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Mix flour with baking soda. Combine butter, the sugars, vanilla and pudding mix in large mixer bowl; beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture; then stir in chips and nuts. (Batter will be stiff.) Drop by rounded teaspoon about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes about 7 dozen. (You can substitute chocolate flavor instant pudding for the vanilla.)
