SAUCE POT MEAT BALLS | |
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix 1 1/4 c. water 2 cans tomato sauce (sm.) 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 tsp. garlic salt 1/2 tsp. thyme 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. parsley In heavy pot bring to a boil onion soup, water and 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes. Mix ground beef, seasonings and rest of tomato sauce. Shape into tiny balls, drop into sauce. Simmer gently, uncovered, for 25 minutes. Serve over spaghetti. Serves 6 or 7. I usually put the cooked spaghetti in large casserole and pour the sauce and meat balls over it. Run a knife blade into spaghetti so sauce will run through. Then put casserole into oven just a few minutes so it will all be blended. |
