HOMEMADE LASAGNA | |
1 med. onion 1 1/2 lbs. hamburger 1 (6 oz.) tomato paste 1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1 lb. can tomatoes 1 tsp. pepper 1 lb. cottage cheese 3/4 pkg. 8 oz. noodles 1 tbsp. oregano 1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese 1 tsp. salt Cook hamburger and onions. Pour off grease. Combine paste, sauce, tomatoes, cottage cheese, oregano, salt and pepper. Cook noodles, pour half meat in dish. Layer of noodles, more meat and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes (until brown on top). Let set for 10 minutes before serving so it will thicken. |

Instead of using cooked noodles, I added some extra water to the meat mix and used uncooked noodles (make sure to leave space since they will grow!) and let it sit in the fridge all day - then put it in the oven around 5:10pm and it was perfectly done at 6pm. Definitely going to keep using this recipe!
