OVEN-BARBECUED CHICKEN 
1 1/2 c. tomato juice
3/4 c. distilled white vinegar
1 tbsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. each ground red pepper and powdered mustard
Dash pepper
3 lbs. chicken parts, skinned
1 c. thinly sliced onions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 1 quart saucepan combine all ingredients except chicken and onions; cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until flavors are blended, 5 to 10 minutes.

In 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish arrange chicken parts in an even layer; top with onion sliced, then tomato juice mixture. Bake, basting chicken frequently, until chicken is cooked through - 50 minutes to one hour. Remove and discard bay leaf before serving.
