SOUR CREAM RAISIN COOKIES 
2 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream
3 tsp. vanilla
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Simmer raisins in water until water is absorbed; cool. Cream shortening; add sugar gradually; beat in egg. Blend in sifted dry ingredients, sour cream, vanilla, oatmeal, raisins and walnuts. Drop level teaspoonful of dough onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen.
