6 lbs. cabbage, shredded 3 tbsp. salt 2 stems celery, chopped 2 green peppers, chopped 5 1/2 c. sugar 2 c. water 2 1/2 c. white vinegar 1 tbsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. mustard seed Sprinkle cabbage with salt. Let stand 1 hour. Add celery and green pepper. Let stand an additional 20 minutes. Combine sugar, water, vinegar, celery seed and mustard seed. Bring to boil. Pour over cabbage mixture and mix well. Cool and put in freezer containers. Keeps indefinitely, but not long at my house! |
