STRAWBERRY SOUP 
3 pts. fresh strawberries, hulled and washed well
2 1/2 c. fresh orange juice (4-5 oranges)
1/4 c. Grand Marnier liqueur
1-3 tbsp. sugar to taste, depending on sweetness of strawberries
1 c. creme fraiche (see recipe) make two days ahead

1. Set aside several strawberries for garnish.

2. In blender or food processor fitted with steel blade, puree berries until smooth. Pour into large bowl.

3. Add orange juice, Grand Marnier and sugar. Whisk in creme fraiche until well blended. Chill for 1 hour.

4. Serve in shallow soup bowls or large balloon wine glasses. Slice reserved strawberries lengthwise into 1/4 inch slices and carefully lay 5 on top of each serving. Serves 6.

CREME FRAICHE:

1/2 c. heavy or whipping cream (not ultra pasteurized)
1/2 c. sour cream

In small bowl whisk the creams together. Pour in clean jar, cover and let stand in warm place for 12 hours. Then stir and refrigerate for 24 hours. Yield: 1 cup.
