BLACK DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1 egg
2/3 c. vegetable oil
1 c. sour milk
1 c. strong black coffee, add 1 tsp. instant coffee to hot coffee
2 c. flour
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
9x13 pan

In large mixer bowl, beat egg, oil and sour milk together at medium speed for one minute. Stir in coffee at low speed until blended. Sift together the dry ingredients. Blend in at low speed, then beat two minutes at medium speed.

Pour into a greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Test for doneness. If using glass pan, bake at 325 degrees instead. Frost if desired.
