1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. stewed prunes
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. prune juice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream butter, sugar and soft beaten eggs. Add prune juice alternately with flour which has been sifted with spices and soda.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes or more, in 2 (9 inch) layer cake pans. Frost with butter icing.
