DATE ROLL | |
1 lb. walnuts 1 lb. pitted dates 1 lb. (12 oz.) marshmallows 1 lb. graham cracker crumbs 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk Save 1/4 graham cracker crumbs for coating. Chop nuts, dates and marshmallows. Mix everything except milk and 1/4 of the graham cracker crumbs. Pour milk into mixture. If you don't chop your own nuts, dates and buy miniature marshmallows, you may need to add a bit more milk (not too much). Separate mixture into 3 equal parts. Place on waxed paper and roll up and squeeze real hard until molded into firm log. Roll log in remaining crumbs. Wrap in new waxed paper and refrigerate for 2 days. Slice to serve. This recipe freezes very well. Makes 3 logs. |
