ED'S CHILI FOR A CROWD 
4 lb. ground beef
8 med. onions
4 cans tomatoes
3 cans kidney beans, drained (reserve liquid)
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. basil
3 c. chopped celery
3 jars sliced mushrooms
3 med. green peppers, chopped
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. black pepper
12 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp. garlic powder

Cook and stir ground beef and onions until beef is browned. Stir in tomatoes and sauce and reserved kidney bean liquid and all seasonings. Heat to boiling, reduce heat to simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Stir in kidney beans. Stir occasionally for about 15 minutes or until desired consistency. 24 (1 1/3 cup) servings.
