1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup raisins
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup applesauce

Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add nuts and raisins. Mix in the rest of ingredients. Beat thoroughly. Pour in greased tube pan.

Bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
