KALE SOUP 
2 lbs. kale
2 onions, cut up
1/2 cabbage head, cut up
8 potatoes, cut and peeled
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. red pepper
1 lb. chorico, cut in 1-inch pieces
1 lb. beef shank

In large pot put 6 cups water, kale, onion, cabbage, chorico, beef, salt, and red pepper. Cook to a boil for 1 hour. Add potatoes; cook for additional 20 minutes. Serve with Portuguese bread.

Variations: Add 1 cup macaroni.

Not enough hungry people, freeze for another time.
