GUMDROP CAKE | |
2 lbs. gumdrops (eliminate the licorice, cut rest in sm. pieces) 1 c. sugar 1 c. butter 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. applesauce 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. cloves 1 lb. raisins (white) 1 1/2 c. nuts 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 4 c. flour Dredge gumdrops, nuts and raisins in 2 cups flour. Beat butter, sugar and eggs. Blend in applesauce and remaining 2 cups flour to which has been added the cinnamon, cloves, salt, baking powder and soda. Fold batter into the flour, gumdrops, nuts and raisin mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. |
