BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
1 c. butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in
1 tsp. hot water
1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

In large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, vanilla and salt. Stir in flour and baking soda mixture. Fold in chips and nuts. Roll into balls or drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with wet spoon. Bake in 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool 30 seconds before removing from pans.
