MAHATMA RICE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. mahatma rice (white rice that splits)
1/4 tsp. curry powder
Dash of salt
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1 can consomme soup
1/2 c. sauterne wine
1 can mushrooms or 1 c. fresh mushrooms (optional)

Saute onions in butter. Add rice and brown lightly. Add rice mixture to heated soup and wine. Add mushrooms (optional). Heat to a boil, turn heat down and simmer, covered, until rice is done.
