BONNIE BUTTER CAKE 
2/3 c. butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. milk

FRENCH SILK FROSTING:

2 2/3 c. powdered sugar
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, cool
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour pan. Oblong 2 - 9" or 3 - 8" pans. In large bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Beat 5 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. On low speed, mix in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Bake 45-50 minutes in oblong, 30-35 minutes in layer pans.

Frosting: In small bowl, blend sugar, butter, chocolate and vanilla on low speed. Gradually add milk and beat until smooth and fluffy.
