3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. salt
6 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbsp. cooking oil
Food coloring
3 c. water

Sift dry ingredients into a heavy aluminum pan. Mix water, food coloring and oil. Add to flour mixture all at once. Blend well. Cook over medium heat until stiff, stirring constantly.
