BOSTON BROWN BREAD 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. bran flakes
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk (or add 1 tsp. vinegar to milk)
1/4 c. nuts, chopped
1/4 c. raisins

Stir all ingredients together until blended. Do not use mixer. Grease and flour two No. 2 cans. Pour batter into cans, filling them a little over half full. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
