CARAMELS 
1 c. butter
1 lb. brown sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter in 3 quart saucepan. Add sugar and dash of salt, stir thoroughly. Stir in corn syrup. Gradually add condensed milk stirring constantly. Cook and stir over medium heat to firm ball stage (12 to 15 minutes). Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour into buttered 9x9x2 inch pan. Cool and cut into squares.

For turtles: butter cookie sheet and place pecans in turtle pattern. Pour spoonful of hot caramel over pecans. Cool, dip in chocolate.
