DUTCH GREEN BEANS | |
3 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled 1 sm. onion, sliced 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 1 (1 lb.) can cut green beans 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. dry mustard 2 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tbsp. brown sugar Brown onion and water chestnuts slightly in hot bacon fat. Drain beans, saving 1/2 cup liquid. Mix liquid with remaining ingredients and add to onions in skillet. Cook, stirring until mixture boils. Add beans and heat thoroughly. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top and serve. |
