DARK DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
2/3 c. Crisco
2 c. white sugar
2 eggs
2 c. boiling water
12 tbsp. Hershey's cocoa
2 2/3 c. Swans Down cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream Crisco, sugar and eggs. Alternate dry ingredients and boiling water. Add vanilla. Bake in 9x13 pan for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Test center.

ICING:

1 c. Crisco or 1/2 butter
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour

Cook milk and flour over low heat until thickened. Cool.

Cream Crisco and sugar in mixer. Add cooled mixture in portions until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Spread over cake.
