APPLE BROWN BETTY 
1/3 c. butter, melted
2 c. bread crumbs
6 c. apples
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. lemon rinds

Pour butter over crumbs and mix. Arrange 1/3 of this mixture in a greased casserole dish. Combine the dry ingredients and lemon rinds. Place 1/2 of the apples on the crumbs and 1/2 of the dry mix. Keep alternating until all is used up. Spoon lemon juice and water over the apples and top with rest of crumbs. Bake at 375 degrees until done.
